Why I chose this book?
I chose it because I have read three other books written by this author and I really liked them. I have always liked fantasy/mystery books and that’s why I picked, because it has suspenseful parts to and it catches you and takes you into the book literally.
Does it thus far meet your expectations?
Yes it meets my expectations. It even exceeds them. I expected this book to be really good and really gets you thinking and want to read more and more. I think that the Host will be a really good book.

Choose a character. Discus there feelings, thoughts and motivations in relation to their goal.
My character is Melanie. Her goal is to find Jared, the one she loves. Her living thoughts on the other hand, aren’t supposed to be heard be her soul. Melanie’s thoughts are interrupting the souls thoughts and they shouldn’t be so now the soul and Melanie want to find Jared. Her motivation is

Would you like to read more books by this author? Have you already read other books by the author? Why or why not?
Yes, I would like to read other books by this author and I have already read four other books written by her. I’d like to because Stephenie Meyer really captures your interest in the books and I like fantasy novels. She really has a talent for getting you right into the book itself.

Q: Would you like to be one of the characters (acquire a personality trait)? Which of the characters would you become, if you could? Why? If there's something about the character that you'd want to change, what is it?
I would like to become the Seeker. I want t because I like the taste of adventure and some violence. The Seeker seems to have an easy job and that is what I like. I wouldn’t want to be Melanie because she has a much harder life that I don’t think I would be able to handle. What I would want to change is her height and attitude. She would taller and much nicer and more comforting.

Q: What emotions did the book invoke: laughter, tears, smiles, anger? Or, was the book just boring and meaningless? Record some of your reactions.
I think the book invokes laughter, tears, and confusion. I reacted confused in some parts because the author sometimes words things different. Also laughter played a good part the author really likes to use sarcasm. Some parts in the book also invoke tears because some parts are tragic, sad, emotional, melodramatic, and just plain upset. That is what emotions I think the book invokes.

Question: Is there an idea in the book that makes you stop and think, or prompts questions? Identify the idea and explain your responses.
The idea in the book that makes me stop and think is all the memories that Melanie has or is seeing. It can get really confusing if you can’t keep up. Sometimes I even reread the page just to see if it makes sense. It can be hard to keep up with a big book like this one, but if you get lost or are confused all you really have to do is reread or look up the word you don’t understand.

Question:
If you were the author, would you have changed the name of a character, or altered the location of a scene? What does the name mean to you? Do you have a negative connotation associated with the name (or the place)? What would you name the character instead? What would you use as a setting?
If I were the author I probably would have named the main character something more relatable to normal names. Melanie make me think that she is a laid back person with not much patience. I would name the character “Jocelyn” or “Ami” or a other name that’s pretty.

Question: Does the book leave you with questions you would like to ask? What are they? Would you like to direct your questions at a particular character? What questions would you like to ask the author of the book? Are they questions that you may be able to answer by reading more about the author's life and/or works?
Yes the book leaves me with questions. Specifically a few. Why did the author write this book, what motivated her to write it? These are questions I would be ale to answer be reading up more about the author. A question to a character would be: do you enjoy the character you play in the book.

Question: What are your favorite lines/quotes? Copy them into your reading log/journal and explain why these passages caught your attention.
“It’s impossible! You’ve got it wrong! Out of order! That can’t be it!” This one caught my attention because they (Melanie, Wanderer) had been searching for 4 days. “Man urns three-year old daughter to death” this caught my attention because the headline jumped out and scared me. “I think it’s time we visited the Crazies” this one caught my attention because frankly it made me laugh, almost aloud. “Twinkies!!!” this one made me laugh and it caught me attention because of the exclamation mark and the excitement in it.
